Diaz, CDMS presented for the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) virtually regarding ‘FRE702 – Federal Rules of Evidence – Substantial Vocational Evidence’ virtually via Zoom video conferencing. Mr. Diaz presented on June 19, 2024 alongside Rod Stoneburner. In this presentation, they discussed the foundational requirements for a Vocational Expert.

FRANK DIAZ PRESENTED AT CAAA VIRTUALLY!

Mr. Frank P. Diaz, CDMS presented at the California Applicant Attorneys’ Association (CAAA) virtually via Zoom video conferencing in 2020.  Mr. Diaz presented on October 22, 2020 alongside Mark Gearheart, Esq.. Their presentation was regarding “HOW TO USE VOCATIONAL EXPERT EVIDENCE TO DETERMINE THE ACCURATE PERMANENT DISABILITY FOR YOUR CLIENT.” This presentation was put forth by the East Bay and San Francisco Chapters of CAAA.

CAAA Rating Seminar 2013

Mr. Frank P. Diaz, CDMS presented at the California Applicant Attorneys’ Association (CAAA) 2013 Rating Seminar in Monterey, California on December 9, 2013. Mr. Diaz’ presentation, “How to Use a Vocational Expert in the SB863 World,” covered the Changes to California Code of Regulations, Title 8, Division 1, Chapter 4.5. Division of Workers’ Compensation, Subchapter 1.9. Rules of the Court Administrator & Subchapter 2. Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board-Rules of Practice and Procedure, Vocational Experts’ reports being used as evidence, Le Boeuf, Vocational Causation, and how to get your Vocational Expert paid. The presentation, which was well attended, was considered informative and timely by the attendees.

Frank Diaz Presents at CAAA 2012 Summer Convention

Mr. Frank P. Diaz, CDMS, Mark E. Gearheart, Esq., and Joseph C. Waxman, Esq. presented at the California Applicant Attorneys’ Association (CAAA) 2012 Summer Convention in San Francisco, California on June 27, 2012. Over 700 Attorneys were in attendance at this event, and the panel’s presentation was well accepted throughout, and highly acknowledged by all attendees. Their presentation, “Proving an Accurate Loss of Earning Capacity Disability With Vocational Expert Testimony Under Ogilvie III,” covered topics such as: rebuttal methodologies, proving loss of earning capacity, total permanent disability, cause of vocational disability without apportionment based on Welcher/Brodie, discussion of recent 100% Cordova case, Labor Code § 4662, and methods used by Defense Attorneys in order to combat Labor Code § 4662, i.e., Amenableness to Rehabilitation (Return-to-Work Programs).
